On-the-Go Beauty

This year, it’s not just hair tools you’ll be able to pop into your mini-break bag, but some super nifty beauty gadgets too.

Portable beauty tech is advancing at break neck speed and making beauty treatments increasingly accessible. Such on-the-go gadgets include micro-needling devices, like GloPRO’s Microneedling Regeneration Tool, which does amazing things to the face and comes with a head for treating the body and other problematic areas. Then there’s the derma roller, which has seen a 345% hike in Pinterest saves. Also, don’t forget micro-current face cleansers or at-home/DIY therapy masks, like Neutrogena’s Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment, which are having their moment right now. How about those fine lines? Sensica’s Sensilift device reduces wrinkles and improves facial skin; SENSSE Eye Massager uses high frequency vibration with sonic waves to target the eye area; and Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare’s light therapy mask, SpectraLite EyeCare Pro, claims to quickly smooth away smile lines.

In fact, there seems to be a gadget for almost every one of our beauty requirements all aiming to supercharge your skin while fitting into our increasingly hectic schedules by cutting out the downtime of visiting clinics and spas for treatments.

DIY Facial Massage

A good facial massage is heavenly, but, seen as too time consuming or expensive to do regularly, is usually saved for special occasions. Introducing Nurse Jaimie’s Uplift Facial Massaging Beauty Roller – it is a tad expensive, but works the muscles and skin on your décolletage, neck and jawline. You can do it every day and from home.

If you need a home-use anti-aging device with salon-grade technical abilities, go for Sensica’s Sensilift. This non-invasive, hand-held device uses facial massage to reduce wrinkles and improve the skin’s appearance and texture, leaving you feeling firmer and tighter. The device is virtually painless and ultra-safe. Also, there’s no downtime, no repeated clinic visits, and no invasive procedures.

Another product in the Sensica line is the Sensilight Mini, a compact DIY at-home hair-removal device that offers a non-invasive, professional-grade treatment using Reactive Pulsed Light (RPLâ„¢) technology to disable hair re-growth at the root, resulting in permanent hair removal. No more trying to schedule repeat visits to clinics, and you can fit the device in your bag.

Needle Roller

To get the best results from your serum or oil, you could try a needle roller. Don’t worry – it’s not as frightening as it may sound! The rolling device has 540 tiny (0.5mm) needles that create minute channels to boost the penetration of your favorite product, whilst stimulating tired cells. This helps counteract problems like pigmentation, signs of aging and large pores.

Facemask Gadget

Swedish multi-national beauty brand Foreo has come up with an amazingly cool device. Called the ‘UFO’, it’s an advanced smart mask that reduces a 20-minute treatment time to just 90 seconds. Place one of the company’s mini sheet masks inside the UFO and activate a pre-set program with an app. Choose a mask and then, using T-Sonic pulses and more, the UFO enhances the healing properties of the mask.

It seems that salon or clinic treatments are no longer meeting the needs of the modern consumer. To suit our hectic schedules, we’re looking for alternatives that we can do ourselves, in our own time, with devices small enough to fit in our bags so we can fit in a quick treatment on-the-go! The good news is that the beauty industry has recognized this trend and is working fast to adapt.
